WORKSHOP PROGRAM

JUNE 26, 2019 - IFEMA

2:00 pm - 2:25 pm

Improving the Performance of Electric Vehicles : Lightweight Materials and Active Aerodynamics Strategies

Fernando Burguera - Batz Automotive Systems

Advanced Engineering Department

A revolution is taking place in the automotive sector : the arrival of EV involves a drastic model change. But the market is showing reluctance to the new technology, mainly due to the relatively short vehicle range and the long time required to recharge the batteries.
Batz is actively working to minimize these limitations by reducing the vehicle electrical consumption. And to achieve this goal, the proposed fields of activity are : (1) reduction of vehicle weight using a combination of high performance lightweight structural materials, with adapted designs and manufacturing processes, and (2) improvement of the overall vehicle performance implementing Active Aerodynamic Systems located at different places in its structure.
And of course – an absolute must in the automotive market – remaining on a cost-competitive basis.

2:30 pm - 2:55 pm

Opportunities and Challenges for the Implementation of Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing) in the Automotive Sector

Detlef Scholz - EOS

Team Manager Additive Manufacturing Technology Consulting

The first 3D printing systems reached the market more than 30 years ago and companies in the automotive sector quickly adopted this new technology. In recent years technology has made great advances and systems, processes and materials are increasingly adapted to the specific demands of the automotive sector. It remains to take advantage of its great capacity to create innovative solutions. Additive manufacturing is the digital technology "par excellence", its role within Industry 4.0 and the digital factory is fundamental. An innovative component, produced within a digital cell and highly efficient, and used intelligently (Smart) forms the basis of the 3igital concept created by "Additive Minds" for the next wave of disruption in the world of production.

3:00 pm - 3:25 pm

Vacuum Resin Dispensing Technology for E-Motors

Marco Aprà - DEMAK Group

Sales Area Manager
Demak will focus its contribution on the resin encapsulation of electrical motors and, above all, E Drive motors. Thanks to the experience gained during these last years, Demak will present the many advantages of a full encapsulation compared to other insulation methods such as impregnation and trickling technologies. Demak will discuss the encapsulating process through the analysis of an automatic line and with the use of a specific resin system specially developed for electrical traction motors. The use of Continuous Vacuum Technology is crucial in Demak equipment and processes, in order to guarantee the best impregnation without any bubble or voids into the final product.

3:30 pm - 3:55 pm

Digital in Supply Chain Transformation

Manuel Purwin - Kuehne + Nagel

Vice President

4:00 pm - 4:25 pm

Digital Services for the Automotive Industry

Pedro Romero Sánchez - Siemens

Head of Digital Services and Industrial Cybersecurity Services
The automotive industry is the technological trendsetter among manufacturing industries. It keeps evolving on a fast pace and is a driver of the new era of digitalization. Digitalization helps the automotive industry to turn their ideas into successful vehicles faster and more efficiently. The requirements and demands of this industry are as manifold as the new opportunities created through digitalization. However, each company has specific needs and requirements. With our comprehensive portfolio and deep domain know-how, we are prepared to support you with customized solutions.

JUNE 26, 2019 - IFEMA

9:30 am - 9:55 am

The Moroccan Automotive Industry: A Growing Ecosystem

Saad Aiouche - AMICA

Committee President and Pilot Administrator

AMICA (Moroccan Association for automotive Industry & car manufacturers) is looking for and helping investors move to Morocco to support the booming Moroccan automotive industry. The Moroccan automobile industry has been going through an impressive evolution and development since its early days. Morocco has moved from being a mere CKD assembly player to becoming a major car manufacturer, exporting vehicles to 75 countries across the globe.
The AMICA organization contributes to achieving and implementing the objectives set by public authorities in relation with sectorial policies. For instance, the organization is leading the industrial ramp up plan, initiated in 2014, by creating ecosystems in Morocco. Thanks to its partnership with car manufacturers already implemented in Morocco, AMICA has determined the needs in amenities and process development in order to meet car manufacturers’ needs and attract more constructors. OEMs currently implemented in Morocco supply local and worldwide car manufacturers. Several benefits are offered to investors who wish to support rising Moroccan ecosystems.

10:00 am - 10:25 am

How to Improve Your Supply Chain, Having End2End Visibility, Predictive and Intelligence Response

Sebas Alsina - Infor

Cloudsuite Automotive Solutions Director
Because 80% of data and processes sits outside the walls of any single enterprise, it’ll provide value to orchestrate the end2end supply chain, having tight connectivity and collaboration with all trading partners and a single end2end view, avoiding data in silos. In particular, it is possible to have predictive effects of any change, avoiding making decisions with incomplete information or delays. This session looks at how Infor is helping OEM’s and Automotive suppliers with their innovative Public Cloud solution to improve the value provided to the complete supply chain (Suppliers, Customers, Dealers and Consumers).

10:30 am - 10:55 am

Visibility and Optimization of Plant Processes

Manuel López Pérez - Telefónica Empresas

Product and Value Proposal Manager for IoT Solutions
What is the availability and performance of my production lines? Which production line is more efficient or more productive? Can I do more with less? Could we assume a sales growth of 10% with my current manufacturing lines? Why do we always have the same faults? Am I efficient in the consumption of electricity? Which factory or line consumes more? Do my workers do the maintenance plans? Are we able to detect quality problems in time? If you would like to know how to answer these questions Telefónica tells you how.
