Director of Advanced Manufacturing & Equipment Standardization
René González joined Gestamp in the year 2000 as Occupational Risk Prevention Director, after having worked as a consultant for several companies related to the Group.
He is currently Gestamp’s Corporate Director of Advanced Manufacturing & Equipment Standardization, position which he holds since June 2016, being in charge of defining and implementing the roadmap for the incorporation of Industry 4.0 initiatives within the Group.
In addition, since 2013 he is also responsible for the company’s Energy Efficiency, a position from which he is responsible for defining and executing the strategic plan to integrate energy efficiency initiatives in the company.
He previously held other positions within the company. In 2004, he integrated the Environment Area, and in 2009 he assumed the Corporate Responsibility Department. Some of the most important milestones in this area were the implementation of a Compliance policy and the publishing of Gestamp’s Sustainability Report.
René has completed the Higher Programme in Corporate Responsibility Management at the Instituto de Empresa and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Prevention Management. In addition, in 2017 he completed the Harvard Business School Global Management Academy Program between Tokyo and Boston.
